The purpose of this website is to provide information about the implications of the Lisbon Treaty for the EU’s development cooperation policy.

This website includes a consolidated version of the Lisbon Treaty, including expert analysis of the articles which are relevant to the EU’s external actions with a special focus on development cooperation.

Disclaimer

All article numbers referred to in this website correspond to the article numbers as prescribed in the version of the Lisbon Treaty which was published in Official Journal of the European Union, C 306, Volume 50, on 17 December 2007.

In May 2008, the Council of the EU published a consolidated version of the Lisbon Treaty. The numbering of the articles in the consolidated version differs from that of the version dating from December 2007.

We apologise for the confusion and we will endeavour to align the numbering of the articles on this website with those in the consolidated version of the Lisbon Treaty in the near future.
